Terms and Conditions

These Terms govern your use of stresslesscollegeapps.com and every service, digital product, and community offered by Stress Less College Apps, LLC ("the Consultant," "we," or "us"). Effective date: October 19, 2026.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By using this website, booking a consultation, purchasing a product, or enrolling in a program, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy below. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or services. When these Terms refer to "the Client," they mean the student receiving services and, where the student is under 18, the parent or legal guardian who enrolls them.

2. Description of Services

The Consultant provides independent college admissions counseling. Depending on the program, this may include college list strategy, personal statement and supplemental essay coaching, activities and résumé refinement, application strategy, testing strategy, and educational planning. The Consultant also offers digital guides, workshops, courses, and online community access. The specific scope, schedule, and fee of each engagement are set out in the program description or written agreement the Client accepts at enrollment.

3. No Guarantee of Admission

The Consultant does not guarantee admission to any college or university, any scholarship or financial aid award, or any particular outcome. Admissions decisions are made solely by each institution, using criteria that are often undisclosed and that change from year to year. Results that appear on this website or in marketing materials describe past clients and do not predict or promise future results. The Consultant is not affiliated with, and does not represent, any college or university.

4. Client, Parent, and Guardian Responsibilities

  • Authority. If the student is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must accept these Terms and is responsible for the student's participation and for all fees.

  • Student's own work. All application content must be the student's own. The Consultant coaches, gives feedback, and teaches. The Consultant does not write essays or application responses for students and will not assist with misrepresentation.

  • Accuracy. The Client is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of everything submitted to colleges, and for meeting all application deadlines, requirements, and portal tasks.

  • Engagement. Progress depends on the student's effort, timely communication, and prompt delivery of drafts and information the Consultant requests.

  • Professional scope. The Consultant is not a lawyer, therapist, tax advisor, or financial advisor. Information about financial aid, residency, immigration, or legal matters is general and not professional advice.

5. Fees, Payment, and Refunds

  • Fees. Fees are stated at checkout, on the services page, or in your enrollment agreement. Prices may change, but a change does not affect a purchase you have already made.

  • Payment. Payment is due as stated at enrollment. Payments are processed by third-party providers, and the Consultant does not store full card numbers.

  • Recurring charges. Memberships and subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel before the next billing date to avoid future charges. Charges already made are not prorated.

  • Consultations. Initial strategy sessions that are offered free of charge carry no obligation to purchase.

  • Rescheduling and cancellation. Please give at least [24 hours] notice to reschedule a session. Sessions missed or canceled without that notice may be forfeited.

  • Refunds. [Insert your refund policy here, for example: counseling packages are refundable on a prorated basis for unused sessions within 14 days of purchase.] Because digital products are delivered immediately, they are non-refundable once access is provided, except where required by law or where the product is materially defective.

6. Digital Products, Courses, and Community Access

Purchase of a digital guide, course, or membership gives the Client a personal, non-transferable license to access and use it. Access is for one household and may not be shared, resold, or posted publicly. Community spaces, such as Discord or Skool groups, are governed by these Terms and by the platform's own rules. The Consultant may remove any member whose conduct is abusive, deceptive, or harmful to others, without refund. Digital products and community features may be updated, reorganized, or retired over time.

7. Intellectual Property and Proprietary Materials

The Consultant retains ownership of all proprietary counseling materials, worksheets, presentations, templates, systems, methodologies, videos, and educational resources provided to the Client.

The Client may use such materials solely for personal educational purposes and may not reproduce, distribute, sell, or commercially share them without written permission.

The content, design, text, graphics, and branding of this website, including the Stress Less College Apps name and logo, belong to the Consultant and may not be copied or used without written permission.

8. Student Essay and Application Material Usage

The Client grants the Consultant a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use portions of student essays, short responses, activity descriptions, resumes, and related admissions materials for:

  • Educational instruction

  • Professional training

  • Marketing examples

  • Workshops

  • Courses

  • Future counseling guidance

  • Educational publications and presentations

The Consultant agrees to exercise reasonable diligence in anonymizing such materials, including removal or modification of identifying details such as:

  • Student name

  • School name

  • Geographic identifiers

  • Specific organizations

  • Unique personal identifiers

The Consultant agrees to refrain from using the Client's anonymized admissions materials in educational materials prior to their final submission.

The Client understands that complete anonymity cannot be absolutely guaranteed in all circumstances, particularly for highly distinctive narratives.

If the Client does not wish to grant this permission, the Client must notify the Consultant in writing before services begin.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The website, services, and materials are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Consultant disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of third-party information. Admissions policies, deadlines, and requirements change often, and the Client should confirm them directly with each institution.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Consultant is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost opportunities, rejected applications, or missed deadlines. The Consultant's total liability for any claim arising from the services will not exceed the amount the Client paid to the Consultant for the specific service giving rise to the claim in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Indemnification

The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Consultant from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from the Client's breach of these Terms, from inaccurate or dishonest application content submitted by or for the student, or from the Client's misuse of the services or materials.

12. Termination

The Client may end services at any time by written notice, subject to Section 5. The Consultant may suspend or end services or community access if the Client breaches these Terms, engages in abusive or dishonest conduct, or asks the Consultant to take part in misrepresentation. Sections 3, 7, 8, and 9 through 14 survive termination.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The parties will first try to resolve any dispute informally by written notice. If that fails, any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Alameda County, California, and each party consents to those courts' jurisdiction. [Optional: add a binding arbitration or small-claims clause after attorney review.]

14. Changes, Severability, and Contact

The Consultant may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on this site, with its effective date, applies to your use after posting. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms, together with any written enrollment agreement, are the entire agreement between you and the Consultant on their subject. If they conflict with a signed enrollment agreement, the signed agreement controls.
