College Planning for the Whole Family

Less stress, stronger applications, and a student who is ready for what comes after admission. Two ways to work with me, both built on the Guided Ambition Lab.

Two ways we can work together

Both include the full Guided Ambition Lab. The difference is how much of the work we do side by side.

By keeping my operation lean, I deliver concierge value at far lower prices than my big name competitors. See how the Application Partnership stacks up against the published rates of College Essay Guy and Admissionado.

How my prices compare

*Though I do not arbitrarily limit the number of colleges or essays, I generally recommend that students apply to 10-20 colleges. The number of essays is naturally limited by the time and effort that the student invests into their applications in the provided time.

Clarity Backed by Expertise

Can we join in the middle of high school?

1

Yes. The Guided Ambition Lab has an entry guide for every grade, so you start with the pieces your family needs most.

Do you promise admission to a particular school?

2

No. No honest counselor can. I promise to build a college admissions strategy that makes sense for your student and family.

Can I continue the Foundations Counseling package into senior year?

3

Yes. However, many students applying to selective universities require extensive editorial support to write competitive essays. That’s only something I provide in my Applications Counseling. Students who opt for this may submit their essays for asynchronous feedback using one of my Essay Revision services.

If I’m joining fall of senior year, can I purchase a prorated Application Counseling package?

4

Only if I have not maxed out my caseload already. Please schedule a free consultation where we can discuss your college counseling needs.

Where have your students earned admission?

5

I’ve lost track! I work with students who range widely in their goals, preferences, and admissions competitiveness. I work with some of the most talented students in the country targeting top institutions. I work with students heavily weighing community college against their four-year options. I work with families in the “middle class trap” who rely heavily on in-state tuition and merit aid to finance their students’ higher education. I love helping students build personalized college lists that cut through university marketing and really reflect what the student wants out of these four years.

The list below reflects a very incomplete sample of colleges where my students have earned admission.

  • Every University of California campus

    • UC Berkeley Spieker Undergraduate Business Program

    • UC Berkeley Electrical Engineering & Computer Science

  • Massachusetts Institute of Technology

  • Columbia University

    • List College Jewish Theological Seminary (joint program with Columbia)

    • Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation

  • Yale University

  • Harvard University

  • Northwestern University

  • NYU Stern (Full ride)

  • University of Southern California

  • Georgia Tech (Computer Science, Industrial Engineering)

  • University of Michigan (Industrial Engineering)

  • University of Texas, Austin (Data Science, out-of-state)

  • Purdue University (Computer Engineering)

  • Washington and Lee University
